Camping in Alberta: Our favourite spots!

Elk Island National Park:

Boulton Creek Campground (Kananaskis Country):
About an hour's drive from Calgary, this campground in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park provides easy access to hiking and biking trails, as well as picturesque lakes.
Gooseberry Campground (Kananaskis Country):
Situated in the Spray Valley Provincial Park, this campground offers a rustic camping experience with access to hiking and fishing.
Beauvais Lake Provincial Park:
Approximately a 2.5-hour drive from Calgary, this park has a serene lake, hiking trails, and a campground that often remains less crowded than some of the more popular destinations in the Rockies.
Little Elbow Campground (Kananaskis Country):
This campground is relatively close to Calgary, making it a popular choice for weekend getaways. It's nestled in a beautiful forested area and offers great hiking and mountain biking trails.
Barrier Lake Campground (Kananaskis Country):
Just an hour from Calgary, Barrier Lake Campground is known for its stunning mountain views and access to the Barrier Lake Reservoir, ideal for water activities.
